Exciting opportunity for qualified staff nurses to join our friendly Community hospital. We have 2 wards with a total of 32 beds and an OPD department.
We would welcome motivated nurses who are interested in expanding and moving forward with the services we are able to offer for the future. We are more than happy to coach and mentor newly qualified Staff Nurses through their Preceptorship.
That the 12 fundamentals of care are applied in the care of all patients.
Initiate the immediate, individualised care of patients by assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, without the direct supervision of a senior nurse.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
1. Produce records and document in compliance with Local, Health Board and NMC Guidelines.
2. Demonstrate an awareness of research based clinical procedures, which will extend their role as identified for their area during their Annual Performance review.
3. Demonstrate theoretical and practical ability regarding patient care, providing high quality, effective nursing.
4. Promote effective communication/collaboration with all members of the multi-disciplinary team including the discharge process.
5. Take charge of the Ward/Unit when required and provide continuity of service, supporting less experienced staff.
6. Demonstrate supervisory skills in relation to patients/carers/student/NVQ Candidates and less experienced staff.
7. Mentor and support nursing students and participate in assisting them to meet their learning objectives.
8. Ensure equipment is used in the correct way and that resources are used wisely in order to minimize waste and misuse.
9. Comply with Health Board and Divisional mandatory Training requirements.
10. Report to the Nurse in Charge of Ward/Hospital any untoward incidents/Complaints, accurately completing relevant incident forms.
11. Be actively involved in Health Promotion.

£30,420 to £37,030 a year per annum, pro rata.
