The Priory Learning Trust (Somerset Business Award winner for Employer of the Year 2023) is looking to recruit a 6th Form Learning Mentor to work at The King Alfred School - An Academy in Highbridge - rated 'Good' by Ofsted November 2022.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing guidance and academic support to 6th Form students. This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving and supportive community, dedicated to empowering students to achieve their full potential.
As part of this role, you will:
* Support the teaching and learning process under the guidance and direction of the Head of 6th Form.
* Develop a range of strategies to engage individuals and groups of students, often with differing requirements.
* Liaise between students and the careers department to arrange appointments.
The successful candidate will have:
* GCSE Grade C or above in English (Literacy) and Maths (Numeracy) or numeracy and literacy skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2.
* Training in relevant learning and SEN strategies.
* Ability to use ICT effectively to support learning.
* Ability to be self-motivated with a desire to improve own practice/knowledge through self-evaluation and working with others.
