Assistant Business Technical Manager
WHAT IS ON OFFER
Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Business Technical Manager to join our Knight Energy Services team based in Dundonald, Scotland.
Reporting to the Business Technical Manager, we require a suitably experienced Chemist. You will be responsible for supporting sampling and laboratory activities in support of our client’s requirements across the globe. This is a multiskilled hands on role that provides an interface between the laboratory and our clients and requires a practical, pragmatic and flexible approach, in all aspects. To ensure success, we focus on client service and retention by provision of a reliable and value added service. This role offers an opportunity to develop into technical and business management and you will require and develop an interest and understanding in very diverse materials, activities, industries, and professions. This is not an “at the bench” laboratory role though aspects of our business require some maintenance of those skills.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Required Work Experience
1. Five plus years’ experience in an ISO17025 chemistry laboratory environment. Solid or liquid.
2. fuel products testing would be advantageous.
3. Relationship forming and building experience with internal and external parties.
4. Able to think laterally, and problem solve.
5. Knowledge of basic financial matters would be useful.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
7. IT skills with Microsoft office and Googles aps in particular.
8. Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
Required Qualifications
9. A suitable academic technical qualification, preferably in chemistry.
