NA1 POSITION PURPOSE The Business Analyst, Corporate Governance, supports a range of work across the Governance and Responsible Investing teams. This work includes regular maintenance of the governance-related factors in RIIM; compiling the governance sections for periodic portfolio reviews; compiling specific watch lists on an annual cadence and uploading these into RIIM; serving as the primary point of contact for the Good Governance Test screens required by certain portfolios; and taking ownership of other related projects (such as data collection and voting support) as needed. The position provides deep knowledge of our investment organization and how the Governance team interacts with our partners in Investments and across the organization, as well we an understanding of the business management function. Principal Responsibilities Liaise frequently with the RI Business Management team and ESG Technology Team to represent Governance on matters such as understanding RIIM model changes, assessing new data sources under consideration, establishing priorities for the RI Technology group, and generally maintaining open lines of communication. Undertake training and maintain proficiency in internal TRPA systems used for Responsible Investing purposes: RIIM, Lens, Darwin, Emma, PX. Serve as the subject matter expert on RIIM, Lens, Darwin and Emma in the Governance team. Ensure governance indicators in these systems are fit-for-purpose and undertake data quality initiatives Collaborate with colleagues across Investments and Investment Compliance to manage and respond to queries sent to the team mailbox related to client and fund ESG guidelines and Good Governance Test screening requests. Manage the quarterly Good Governance Test review process and ensure the output is shared with Investment Compliance in a timely fashion. Contribute to the design and implementation of policy, processes, and governance practices that improve efficiency and reduce risk across ESG tools and systems Organize the calendar of governance-attended portfolio reviews, and prepare governance content for portfolio reviews Develop and maintain documents used in support of and to communicate with internal business partners Conduct specialized research and data collection on either an ad hoc or routine basis, as needed by the Governance Team. Throughout the year, build a collection of ESG-related issues, research reports, engagement notes and other content that can be used to inform our ESG Annual Report. Content is collected from RMS notes, meeting notes submitted by heads of RI and CG; and general industry/external sources. Maintain a shortlist of voting and engagement case studies, and undertake other actions as required, to support the annual production of the Stewardship Report Support the production of governance-related regulatory reporting (e.g. IFPR) Provide support for ad hoc projects as requested SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Working knowledge of the investment industry Outstanding analytical skills, both quantitative, and qualitative.
