OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educational team in providing a nurturing and effective learning environment for children. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, including autism. This role is vital in helping to communicate and educate young learners, ensuring they receive the attention and guidance they need to thrive.
Responsibilities
• Assist the lead teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities tailored to the needs of each child.
• Provide individual support to children, particularly those requiring special education assistance.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and learning.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a respectful environment among students.
• Support children with toddler care as needed, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
• Communicate effectively with children, using appropriate methods to ensure understanding.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop educational strategies that meet the diverse needs of students.
• Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to working with children.
Qualifications
• Previous experience working with children, particularly in an educational or care setting.
• Knowledge of special education practices, including strategies for supporting children with autism.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with young learners.
• A genuine passion for educating and nurturing children's development.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards teaching and learning.
