Careers and Employability Advisor - Level 6 CIAG
College location: This is a Cross-College role that is based both at John Ruskin College (Croydon) and East Surrey College (Redhill)
Salary: £35,812 - £37,989 (Subject to qualifications, skills and experience)
Hours: Full time - Monday to Friday 8:45 am - 5 pm
We are currently recruiting for a Careers and Employability Advisor. In this exciting role, you will need experience of working in an educational setting providing Careers IAG, have employability skills and the ability to inspire, motivate and relate to young people.
Main responsibilities of this role include:
* Providing outstanding careers guidance, counselling and information to learners in line with the College’s formal entitlement for students.
* Ensuring systems and procedures for UCAS, student finance and support are created, maintained and up to date.
* Organising and arranging partnership events with schools, employers and HE institutions, e.g. careers fair, HE fairs and other appropriate events.
* Researching and providing up to date reports that promote local and national career opportunities and local market information to keep learners and tutors informed of new developments and trends.
* Leading and delivering bespoke careers and employability programmes ensuring their appropriate embedding across the Curriculum.
* Offering advice and guidance to academic staff on relevant and appropriate careers interventions.
* Actively managing and delivering careers education and guidance to students studying a wide range of subjects to help them achieve their ambitions.
* Working flexibly and independently whilst being supported as part of the wider team.
The successful candidate must have:
* A minimum of a Diploma in Careers Guidance or relevant specialist careers qualification at Level 6.
* Up to date and authoritative knowledge of careers guidance work and developments in Education / FE / HE employment and careers matters.
* Experience and knowledge of offering and delivering careers IAG to KS4 up to level 4 learners as well as standard 16-18, apprenticeships and adult employability programmes on an individual or group basis.
* Commitment to delivering high quality, independent and client-focused career advice in one-to-one guidance sessions and other activities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong planning and organisational abilities, and great attention to detail.
