At this company, they understand the importance of de-risking solid form selection, optimizing particle engineering, and understanding the link between particle properties and product performance. From their state-of-the-art facilities in Sandwich, UK, they offer lab and consultancy services tailored to meet customers' needs, timelines, and budgets.
You will initially report to the Director of Portfolio Management and will liaise daily with colleagues involved in areas such as solid form selection, crystallization, particle characterization, and formulation, all based at their premises in Sandwich. Externally, you may have contact with other clients, external collaborators, suppliers, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out all aspects of practical work in a laboratory and execute experiments in a safe manner.
* Design and complete experiments and analyses including salt and solid form screens, characterisation, crystallizations, and formulation.
* Accurately and timely recording of experiments, data, and findings.
* Partner closely with colleagues in other areas to support their multidisciplinary ethos.
* Present your work clearly and concisely to stakeholders, both internally and externally, through written and verbal communications.
* Demonstration of the skills listed above in environments other than scientific research is welcome where relevant.
Education and Experience:
You will have gained a degree in Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences, or alternatively have recent experience working in a pharmaceutical or chemistry laboratory.
* Recent experience in relevant laboratory, analytical and characterisation techniques
* Role will include routine application of techniques such as powder x-ray diffraction (PXRD), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), dynamic vapor sorption (DVS), Raman, IR, microscopy, laser diffraction, SEM. Experience would be desirable but not essential.
* Experience with crystallisation, formulation and/or particle/powder characterisation would also be of interest.
* Good written and oral communication skills.
* A motivated individual with a drive to continuously learn and improve their skills and knowledge.
* Keen interest in science and its application in a laboratory environment
* Ability to work collaboratively and effectively within high performing teams as well as on their own
