Shift Pattern/ Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day between the hours of 06:00am to 18:00pm. The Role This role will support the Shift Manager, assisting them to ensure that all service, cost and health and safety targets are met or exceeded, whilst leading from the front to ensure house-keeping is exceptional. To deputise for the Shift Manager in their absence. Key Responsibilities Assist the Shift Manager in daily operations, including managing pallets in/out, E-commerce processes, pick and pack activities, and coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders. Manage operational systems (TMS, WMS, ERP, spreadsheets) to ensure smooth workflows and efficient workload balancing. Plan and coordinate resources across shifts to meet volume requirements. Ensure accurate reporting by the team, validating data such as hour trackers and shift handovers. Lead and motivate warehouse teams, supervising activities and delegating tasks effectively. Provide regular feedback on performance, handling behavioural issues and highlighting achievements. Address planned and unplanned absences, ensuring adequate coverage. Participate in and contribute to meetings, offering suggestions to improve efficiency, quality, and team collaboration. Maintain clear communication with operations teams to ensure 100% customer satisfaction. Continuously monitor and improve customer-facing booking schedules and tracking forms. Enforce company health and safety policies, promoting safe systems of work and good housekeeping. Support the implementation of training programs aligned with health and safety standards. Skills/Experience/Qualifications Essential experience, skills & behaviours Experience in a supervisory role within a similar environment. High attention to detail, with the ability to monitor and maintain standards. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong leadership skills, capable of motivating teams and delegating effectively. Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of WMS systems and understanding of BRC requirements. Flexibility with shift patterns and a proactive attitude. Desirable IOSH Managing Safety Level 3 qualification Successful candidate(s) will be required to undergo a basic Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) Check.
