At AXA XL, the Cloud Platform Lead is an integral part of our cloud transformation journey, focusing on the management, optimisation, and innovation of our Azure Cloud environment. You will play a critical role in the ongoing management and optimisation of our Azure Cloud environment. This role is tailored for individuals with a robust technical background and a passion for cloud technologies who are eager to drive enhancements in our cloud platform capabilities and to ensure that our cloud platform operates efficiently and effectively. You will work under the guidance of the Principal Cloud Platform Lead, contributing to the seamless integration of cloud solutions into our business operations and supporting projects as needed.
What will your essential responsibilities include?
1. Technical Expertise: You will leverage your in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure and related cloud technologies to guide best practices in cloud operations. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that our cloud platform is robust, efficient, and aligned with industry standards. You will provide expert guidance and support to teams across the organisation and help troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
2. Platform Management: Taking ownership of the Azure PaaS Cloud platform, you will monitor its performance, reliability, and capacity. Your role will involve identifying and managing technical debt, ensuring that the platform evolves in line with the organisation's changing needs. You will utilise this data to inform decision-making and drive improvements in cloud operations.
3. Project Support: Collaborating on various technical projects aimed at enhancing our cloud platform will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will support the execution of initiatives that improve cloud functionality, working under the strategic guidance of the Principal Cloud Platform Lead ensuring they align with the overall cloud platform strategy.
4. Stakeholder Engagement: Building relationships and working closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including security, compliance, and operational resilience, to ensure that cloud solutions meet organisational standards and business requirements.
5. Governance and Compliance: Supporting the implementation of AXA XL's Cloud Governance frameworks will be part of your role. You will assist in maintaining compliance with internal policies and external regulations, fostering a culture of security and risk management across the organisation.
6. Incident Management: Acting as a key point of contact for resolving technical issues and incidents related to cloud services will require your analytical skills. You will troubleshoot problems and ensure timely resolutions while maintaining a high standard of service quality.
7. Continuous Improvement: You will actively seek opportunities to optimise cloud operations and processes. By participating in continuous learning initiatives, you will stay abreast of the latest cloud technologies and trends, applying this knowledge to enhance our cloud services.
8. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining comprehensive documentation of cloud processes, configurations, and changes will be crucial. You will ensure that knowledge is shared across teams, enabling a culture of learning and collaboration. You will provide regular updates to the Principal Cloud Platform Lead and other stakeholders on project statuses, platform performance, and any challenges encountered.
We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
1. Proven Experience: You should have substantial experience in cloud platform management and technical support, specifically within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. Your background should include hands-on experience with cloud architecture and services.
2. Technical Proficiency: A effective understanding of cloud architecture, infrastructure, and services (including PaaS, IaaS, and SaaS models) is essential. Experience with automation tools and DevOps practices will be advantageous.
3. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Your ability to analyse complex issues, propose effective solutions and motivate their implementation will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our cloud services.
4. Communication Skills: You must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling you to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
5. Collaboration: A team-oriented approach, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and build lasting relationships with stakeholders.
6. Organisational Skills: Established organisational and planning capabilities will be vital as you manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks effectively.
7. Adaptability: Your ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, coupled with a willingness to embrace change and new technologies, will be essential.
The Cloud Platform Expert will report to the Principal Cloud Platform Lead and will play an essential role in ensuring that our cloud initiatives are successful and align with AXA XL's strategic goals.
