Stockton House is Apley’s award-winning wedding and events venue in Shropshire, which opened in summer 2022. An 18th-century grade II* listed building with seven luxurious en-suite bedrooms and a 100-seater secret walled garden dining room set in 8,500 acres of the Apley Estate in the Shropshire countryside, Stockton is a wedding venue like no other. The Role
Reporting to the Venue Manager, our Wedding and Events Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the success of the business. You’ll set the atmosphere, tone, and pace, ensuring every client and guest experience is truly memorable. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of Stockton House weddings and events, ensuring excellent service to clients and guests, and looking for opportunities to grow and develop the business.
Responsibilities
Client and Partners:
1. Support clients from initial enquiry through to post-event feedback, ensuring exceptional experiences at every stage.
2. Deliver venue visits and client menu tastings, supporting wedding and event planning to secure new business.
3. Communicate proactively with clients to reassure them about their wedding plans while keeping colleagues informed.
4. Ensure the client’s brief and menu is delivered in a way that exceeds expectations profitably.
5. Use innovative methods to exceed client expectations and delight guests.
6. Ensure seamless execution of service during the wedding day.
7. Resolve any queries or complaints swiftly, ensuring client satisfaction.
8. Build strong relationships with venue partners, suppliers, and other event suppliers.
Team:
1. Recruit, onboard, and induct new host team members, maintaining a full host team sheet.
2. Succession planning by continuously interviewing for the best host team and developing team members for promotion.
3. Create a high-performance culture through regular one-on-ones and coaching.
4. Understand your team's strengths and weaknesses, ensuring their wellbeing and potential are maximized.
5. Inspire, develop, and lead host team members to ensure great retention.
6. Conduct skills reviews and development plans for host team members.
7. Participate in regular team meetings, supporting the Venue Manager and Head Chef.
8. Celebrate successes and share wins, showcasing the team's work.
9. Model leadership behavior to create a positive working environment.
Business:
* Support the Venue Manager in day-to-day tasks.
* Draft proposals for guests in line with costing guidelines.
* Ensure all events comply with Health & Safety Procedures.
* Maximize revenue opportunities through sales analysis and effective forecasting.
* Assist in logistics reviews and planning.
* Contribute to social media marketing and content creation across all platforms.

Package:
This is a permanent full-time position with a salary starting at £27,000 pa, with an annual review and a 3-month probationary period. Working hours depend on business needs, requiring full flexibility, including weekends and evenings.

Qualifications:
* Strong time management and organizational skills.
* Previous experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in restaurants or hotels.
* Ability to effectively communicate with guests and team members.
* Experience in fundraising or event planning is a plus.
* Valid driver's license for transportation needs.
* Proven ability to upsell products or services.
* Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional guest services.
