Job summary
We are currently seeking experienced Orthotists who are looking for anopportunity to develop their career and be a part of our large and dynamic teamin OCS.
They will act as aClinical Lead, reporting to the Regional Clinical and Operational Lead (RCOL).
The role holder willbe an integral member of the senior clinical team, with direct line managementresponsibility, providing mentoring support to less experienced orthotists,graduates and students; as well asguiding and supporting more experienced staff to continue their professionaldevelopment.
In OCS there are a wide variety of MDTs and extended practice clinicsincluding, but not limited to:
Paediatrics clinic
Scoliosis bracing
Diabetic foot clinics
Neuro clinic
Theatre castings
KAFO clinics
The post holder will be a key member of the senior team and will be keyin providing excellent patient care, while being influential in the developmentof the clinical OCS services.
The successful candidates will join an enthusiastic and busy team, and be supported with local, regional, and national training to develop their skills to support the service. We aim to deliver a first class service for users whilst applying the most advanced and exciting clinical and technical solutions available to patients.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensures the clinical team meets targets and is engaged with company objectives.
2. Attends resource meetings with RCOL, assists as a point of contact when RCOL is on leave.
3. Ensure the delivery of high-quality care for all patients and the smooth running of the OCS services.
4. Supporting, developing, and mentoring less experienced orthotists, graduates and students. Help coordinate and contribute to in-service training sessions.
5. Building and maintaining a good working relationship with multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs).
6. Being a direct clinical escalation point to the NHS management.
7. Reports on regional clinical activities to the senior management team, advising any relevant issues to RCOL.
8. To advance the delivery of the orthotics service by embracing evidence-based medicine and the result of clinical audit in line with the requirements of clinical governance.
9. Supporting and contributing to Opcare services by contributing to our national care pathways, protocols, and leadership on orthotics.
10. Working with the Regional Clinical and Operational Lead and production teams to provide excellent orthotic devices as prescribed.
11. Leading on the use of newer technology and innovations systems and 3D print, to improve service delivery.
12. Share your knowledge and experience with junior colleagues and offer mentorship to graduates.
