Main Duties of the Job
This post involves working within a multi-disciplinary team in a Category B local prison providing substance misuse support to our residents.
We are seeking a qualified nurse to work within our integrated healthcare team. The successful candidate will represent healthcare and work alongside the primary care and mental health teams and the prison service to ensure comprehensive care is provided to residents.
The successful candidates will undertake various duties within the prison setting, including screening new residents, performing assessments and reviews, and working in partnership with other agencies to provide comprehensive care.
Secure environment experience is especially desirable but not essential. You will benefit from an extensive supernumerary period, access to a full range of training, and be encouraged to develop your skills within this role.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* RGN / RMN on the NMC register
* Be educated to postgraduate degree level or have 18 months post-qualification experience.
* Have experience and knowledge of working in a secure environment (desirable but not essential).
* Have experience and knowledge of working with residents with substance misuse issues.
* Have experience of managing groups of staff, dealing with staff issues, and managing performance, sickness, and conduct matters.
Skills
* Have excellent written and oral communication skills, ensuring contemporaneous healthcare records are maintained.
* Be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-level environment.
* Have experience of data collection, audits, and report writing.
