About the Team This is an exciting opportunity to help drive transformation within Children s Services and Education as part of the Business Change Hub Team. This ambitious and innovative team is helping to improve our ways of working, moving to a much more agile and digitally enabled organisation which aims to drive change and improve outcomes for our residents. A laptop will be provided and the post holder will be expected to work from a variety of locations including home and council offices. About the Role You will oversee the delivery of the DSG/Safety Valve recovery plan, known locally as SEND Collaboration within Children s Services and Education, ensuring there is good governance and support for the identified programmes of work. Working with Directors, Councillors, Heads of Service, Stakeholders and Partners, you will ensure a coordinated approach to the programme and work closely with the other portfolio managers to ensure a joined-up approach across the council and its partnerships You must be able to demonstrate significant experience of managing complex programmes of work and have a track record of delivering projects that have a high impact upon the reputation of an organisation. You will also be able to think creatively, identify opportunities for improvement, and be able to support services in delivering transformation programmes. You will be comfortable managing multi-disciplinary and multiple project teams to deliver organisational and cultural change. Experience and knowledge of working within Children s Services and education would be an advantage specifically, experience of working within the area of SEND and supporting transformational change to improve the delivery of SEND services, efficient use of financial resources and improved outcomes for children and families. About You If you are an experienced programme manager, with demonstrable experience and knowledge in the following key areas: Leading complex programmes of work Delivering business change and improvement activities Supporting culture change and new ways of working Have knowledge and experience of working within Children s Services and Education Negotiating and influencing skills Building and managing relationships at all levels Excellent report writing and communication skills Able to prioritise your own work and make independent decisions Then we d be interested in receiving your application particularly if you have a flexible attitude and mindset, are a champion of change and are keen to support your colleagues in all areas of the business.
