Job description
Working as a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will be providing assessments and provision of Occupational Therapy interventions to children and adults with complex physical and functional difficulties.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited too:
* Using communication, reasoning and negotiation skills to establish therapeutic relationships in all cases with diversity of complex needs.
* Carrying out initial contact assessments through the OT duty system with either the client, carer or other healthcare professional to establish eligibility for occupational therapy intervention under Care Act Legislation or other relevant procedures and policies.
* Developing and maintaining a wide knowledge of surgical and medical conditions.
* Providing support, guidance, teaching and clinical supervision to junior qualified staff, caseworkers, occupational therapist assistants and students.
* Actively participating in supervision and appraisal, using reflection, analysis and reasoning to ensure best practice.
Requirements:
* Must be a registered Occupational Therapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), holding a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification.
* Current knowledge of, and practical implementation of Housing, Moving and Handling, Care Act and other relevant legislation
* Knowledge of rehabilitation skills appropriate to medical conditions encountered in community settings.
* Working competency relating to assessment and care management, monitoring and reviewing of services to individuals and carers.
* Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
* Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.
