An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit 2 Clinical Educators, responsible for delivering education and development to nursing colleagues, at the point of care, thus improving quality and standardising practice in order to deliver the best possible care to our patients. You will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in nursing care by the application of clinical expertise and positive role modelling. Being an expert clinical practitioner prioritising and planning workload to include working in clinical practice. There will be proactive links with the governance leads on emerging clinical needs, incidents and patient feedback to ensure that dissemination of learning can take place.
Identifying and disseminating information on evidence-based, patient-focused practice across the department and facilitate its implementation.
Main duties of the job
The post holders will work alongside nursing colleagues in medicine, promoting and facilitating high standards of professional practice and competency, while practicing the principles of person centred care at all times. They will help foster a learning culture, which values high quality patient care, working in partnership with the ward, department and division leadership teams.
Assist with practice initiatives to improve the standards of care, acting as a change agent. Having an awareness of the factors that influence the clinical cultures and behaviours of teams.
When the need arises, to provide direct support to a team or individual who is assessed as requiring intensive support, this will include coaching to achieve competence. Support team leaders/ward managers in the production of action plans and objectives for colleagues for whom there is a capability issue.
You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, work well autonomously and demonstrate a responsible and professional attitude in the clinical environment. You will have a high degree of integrity in the workplace and understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality in the role. They will be a visible and accessible point of contact for staff, co-ordinating staff development.
