Senior Finance Business Partner
Bellrock Group are searching for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join the team on a permanent basis. Reporting into the Head of Finance Business Partnering, you will business partner with operational leads within the division, working alongside them in order to understand business processes and their financial impact. This role will be a hybrid working role, 2 days in the office and 3 from home.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare timely and accurate monthly profit and loss accounts and balance sheets, including posting requisite journals to complete the financial data within required deadlines.
* Prepare robust annual budgets and monthly forecasts, including analysing and appraising variances, understanding key cost drivers, identifying trends, risks, opportunities - both for annual budgets and rolling monthly forecasts, by sub-division and by single project.
* Effectively manage and influence working capital.
* Identify and implement opportunities to improve the efficiency of any impactful process.
* Work within the larger Group Finance team to manage intercompany balances, ensure consistency of reporting and adoption of best practice.
* Take accountability of the financials of individual contracts within the division and work closely with the account managers and directors to drive performance.
* Support the provision of consolidated results of business plans, results and forecasts for all sub-divisions within the Division.
* Assist in the analysis of periodic financial performance of individual sub-divisions and projects against objectives (including budgets and forecasts).
* Prepare and present monthly financial information to the operations directors of the sub divisions, MD and Head of FBP.
* Support in the preparation of appropriate financial reports to budget holders to provide financial control and aid performance management and target achievement.
* Prepare and provide a monthly reconciliation including detailed commentary of various Balance Sheet Control Accounts such as Accrued Income, Accruals, Prepayments and Deferred Income.
* Help deliver increased financial controls and corporate governance standards, supporting and monitoring compliance using financial systems and technical expertise.
* Assist in supporting the timely collection of divisional debt and chasing billing for outstanding Accrued Income.
* Provide profitability analysis on key contracts and risk areas within the Division.
* Lead a team of 3 direct reports, made up of management accountants and business partners.
* Work closely with operational teams to understand resource planning and future financial impacts in order to improve profitability across the Division.
* Help to mobilise new contracts from a financial standpoint, as well as aiding the commercial team with terms and conditions.
* Support the Group Finance team as required, to deliver a comprehensive financial and management accounting service to the business (financial and non-financial).
Skills & experience:
* Qualified Accountant with at least 3 years of experience in a similar environment.
* Advanced data management and Excel skills- applied use of Excel to advanced level (macros, pivots, reporting, queries etc.) preferred.
* Experience of period end processes and practice, along with forecasting and budgeting.
* Ability to disseminate information across all levels of the business.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Willingness to be hands-on and have a ‘can-do’ attitude.
* Well-rounded individual; organised and self-motivated.
* Passionate and enthusiastic about customer service and exceeding customers’ expectations.
* Experience in long term contract, or contract accounting advantageous.
* Based in Leicester, with travel to operational London as required.
