PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The purpose of the Girls Regional Program Head Coach role is to oversee the delivery and implementation of the Welsh Way within the Regional Program and the transition of players within the pathway. The Head Coach will support the player development process through on-pitch delivery, player monitoring and individual support and contribute to the implementation of Our Wales - High Performance Strategy. We have two potential roles available - one for the North Wales Programme which will be based out of Colliers Park, Wrexham and another for South Wales, which is based out of Dragon Park, Newport and USW Sports Park. KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY OR RESPONSIBILITY Contribute to a high-performance environment and culture that maximises the potential of players and the provision of talent available for selection at National Team level Implement the program according to the Welsh Way and the player development philosophy as directed by the Head of Player Development (Girls) Work with the Girls Regional Program Manager to develop and deliver the Program Performance Plan Lead and motivate a multi-disciplinary team including Coaches, Sport Science, Medical and Player Care Collaborate effectively with colleagues from within the Women’s and Girls player pathway & Girls Regional Program to ensure alignment and consistency for players. Monitor and identify players participating in the domestic game Working with the Girls Regional Program Manager and Talent Identification team to determine exit strategies for Girls Regional Program players into professional clubs or next non-professional clubs. Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including domestic clubs Support the delivery and execution of the Our Wales High Performance Strategy. Create a safe environment for players and ensure adherence to FAW Safeguarding, policies, practices and procedures. PERSON SPECIFICATION Qualifications and Experience UEFA A Licence Minimum of 3 years coaching experience within elite youth professional environment Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams in high performing environments Experience of working women and girls elite player development (desirable) Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours Developmental focused with experience of nurturing and promoting young players Excellent communication skills to build relationships with staff, players, parents and other key stakeholders Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment, with a ‘can do’ positive attitude Advanced IT skills including football specific software and technology ROLE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS Due to the nature of the industry, the ideal candidate must be flexible in their availability as irregular hours and weekend work will be required for this role, such as working at home and away games. The appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and must have appropriate safeguarding certifications.
