Responsibilities will include - This role requires a considerable amount of Customer contact as well as interfacing to the relevant Training Services teams. - Be main point of contact for customers with technical or logistical issues. - Lead the Maintenance team with workload planning and prioritization. Ensuring all tasks are completed on time across the devices. - Provide 'advice and assistance' to other depts. and management with regards to maintenance and required support to ensure maximum available training time is achieved. - Troubleshooting and resolution of faults in tight time scales. - Perform / support scheduled simulator maintenance routines. - Investigation and repair of ongoing simulator issues. - Simulator set up and pre-flight checks. - Assistance with annual re-certification activities and follow up reporting. - Perform functions relative to maintaining Aircraft and Simulator software. - Maintenance of the Simulator Software Configuration Management System, - Interface with in-house design and test departments to investigate outstanding defects and future product improvements. - Implementing and testing of software changes and building of new software loads. - Spares management. Ordering replacement spares and tracking repairs. - Actively monitor and record Usage, Reliability and Maintainability of the training devices and assist with monthly reporting of the FSTD's via Electronic Maintenance and reporting software. - Coaching of less experienced staff members - Provide safety briefings to new instructors. - Fly simulators for testing / approved visits and demonstrations. What you'll bring The role of Senior Simulator Maintenance Technician requires the following experience and skills: - Educated to a minimum BTEC/HTQ, HND/HNC level or equivalent relevant qualification /experience. - Proven electrical, electronic and mechanical theoretical knowledge supplemented with practical experience. - Develop or possess knowledge aircraft systems and ability to interpret aircraft, engineering, and electronic diagrams. - Able to navigate aircraft manuals and documentation. - Previous FSTD experience. - Flexibility and ability to think out of the box. - Act on own initiative. - IT Literate with MS Office. - Effective written and verbal communication skills.
