Responsibilities
1. Accountable for own actions in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct.
2. Contribute to corporate objectives, acting within local, Trust and statutory guidelines and policies at all times.
3. Hold professional accountability for the Surgical Breast Care Nursing Service.
4. Contribute to the Multi-Disciplinary Team discussions, care planning and decision making to provide seamless coordination and patient care across the patient pathway.
5. Demonstrate highly developed communication skills enabling maintenance of high-quality service within a complex and challenging environment.
6. Responsible for the provision of a high-quality professional nursing service across the surgical breast cancer services.
7. Provide professional leadership and management of the surgical breast care nursing team.
8. Work with the hospital Clinical Governance / Service team in programs of work in modernising service.
9. Overall budget responsibility, as directed by the Group Director of Nursing for resources across surgical breast CNS services.
10. Demonstrate excellent leadership skills supporting the senior management team in service developments.
11. Responsible for the efficient management of processes e.g., complaints, training and development, and appraisal.
12. Utilise information and IT systems to produce accurate and timely workforce and resource data and reports.
13. Responsible for development, implementation, and evaluation of projects to improve patient care and experience.
14. Undertake direct workload requiring moderate to high physical effort according to patient dependency or staff need.
15. Accountable for maintaining a clean, safe environment ensuring adherence to Trust standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control at all times.
16. Responsible for adherence to Health and Safety and Trust policy and Divisional objectives.
