Aldwickbury is an independent day and flexi-boarding school for boys located in 20 acres of grounds on the outskirts of Harpenden in Hertfordshire As a Pre-Prep and Prep School Aldwickbury currently has a pupil roll of 365 boys aged 4-13 years. Operated as an Educational Trust the School is administered by a Board of Governors and is a member of the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPs), the Boarding School Association (BSA) and The Independent School Christian Alliance (TISCA). The Role Accountable to: Domestic Services Manager and Cleaning Supervisor Job Purpose: To undertake cleaning duties at the school. The cleaning team as a whole are responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the school, with each cleaner being responsible for an area of the school. Key Details: Fixed term Contract Monday – Friday (term time only) 4pm-7pm, 15 hours per week You will also be required to deliver a deep cleaning service before the start of term and/or during the school holidays Main Duties and Responsibilities Key responsibilities and accountabilities: Working with the cleaning supervisor, you will assist in maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the school General cleaning of the school Maintaining storerooms and cleaning cupboards safely and securely in compliance with the school’s Health and Safety policy Cleaning for school activities, functions and events, as and when required Identify areas for improvement Attend deep clean/INSET/training days and occasional cleaning days during the school holiday period, as and when required Person Specification Personal Qualities Good attention to detail Well organised Desire to deliver a high quality service Strong team player Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and adhering to and complying with the School's Child Protection Policy statement at all times Knowledge and Experience Previous experience of working in the cleaning industry; desirable but not essential.
