Job summary We are seeking an experienced and dedicated MRI Lead Radiographer to join our Radiology team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust from February 2025. We are expanding services from our Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at St Albans City Hospital. Equipped with modern MRI scanners, the centre will enhance service quality for patients by increasing scanning capacity and reducing referral-to-treatment times. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality imaging services and leading the MRI team to ensure the best patient care and clinical outcomes. We will be delivering a 7-day service and offer flexible shift patterns, including long days. The role will primarily be based at St Albans City Hospital, with the flexibility to work at our other locations; Hemel Hempstead Hospital and Watford General Hospital. Main duties of the job o Lead and manage the MRI team, ensuring a high standard of service delivery to patients and Radiologists. o Oversee the clinical and operational management of MRI services within the Trust, ensuring efficiency and adherence to all standards. o Provide mentoring and support to radiographers, students, and other healthcare professionals within the team. o Ensure the completion of QA testing and maintain accurate records to uphold quality and safety standards. o Actively participate in the Radiology Clinical Governance Programme, contributing to the continuous improvement of services. o Collaborate with the wider Radiology team to enhance the delivery of patient care, ensuring protocols and procedures are followed. o Work closely with senior managers and stakeholders to drive innovation and development in MRI services.
