This exciting opportunity will focus on the servicing, maintenance and repairing of a full range of specialist municipal vehicles including Gully Tankers, Refuse Vehicles Tippers/Tipper grabs and Road sweepers.
This Field Service Engineer role gives you the opportunity to work across the South East Region, paid door to door. If you have a background in plant, specialist vehicle or HGVs then this role may suit you. Standard hours are normally 40-45 hours (Mon-Fri) with flexibility around start & finish times, anything over this is paid at an enhanced rate.
About the role:
As a Field Service Engineer you will be working on a full range of sweeper machines, refuse vehicles and gully tankers. You will be responsible for but not limited to:
1. Fault diagnosis, repair and routine maintenance of specialist vehicles and other company equipment.
2. Ensuring all work is completed safely and complies with retailer, manufacturer, and industry guidelines.
3. Keeping up to date with administrative responsibilities ensuring that all routine maintenance or repair work is subject of an accurate and timely written report.
4. Evaluating, modifying, and preparing machines for hire at Dawsongroup emc depots and customers locations.
5. First Line Repair, Fault Reporting for second line repairs and providing technical advice to third party engineers where required.
About you:
6. A City and Guilds/ONC level 3 qualification or equivalent (Mechanical and or Electrical)
7. Previous experience working as a Field Service Engineer / Vehicle Technician or (Commercial and/or Specialist Vehicles / Plant/ Industrial/ HGV / )
8. Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical circuits or sweeper vehicles.
9. Have a great level of communication skills and customer service with the ability to demonstrate the values and ethics of Dawsongroup
10. Have a flexible and adaptable approach to your role and be able to work well on your own initiative with minimum supervision
11. HGV trained and LGC Class C Licence would be advantageous, but not essential
12. Hold a Full, Clean UK driving licence
