This Morning provides a broad mix of content across current affairs, entertainment news and consumer issues. We are dedicated to providing an entertaining format that informs and advises our viewers. An exciting opportunity has now arisen for an Art Department Assistant to join our team in London.
Reporting to the Art Director the role is to provide creative and administrative support to our Art Department.
You'll have the ability to think creatively whilst working to tight deadlines and adapting quickly to last minute changes.
As the Art Department's immediate point of contact during our Live shows, you will have the confidence to work on a fast paced studio floor, communicating with multiple teams across multiple departments, including the Floor Manager and Series Director (both in person and through radio talkback)
We will look to you for your wide network of useful contacts with prop houses, suppliers and specialist manufacturers, precise attention to detail and knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
The successful person will have experience working on location and on a production set with a fast turnaround, previous shop buying experience and a proven record of set dressing to a brief. It is essential that you have artistic/design knowledge and a keen eye for detail.
Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)
* Live television/Theatre experience
* Set dressing experience to a brief
* Previous prop & furniture sourcing, buying and hiring experience
* Experience prop making, prop construction and prop adapting
Other things we're looking for (key criteria)
* Experience set dressing for demo, consumer, medical and cookery items
* To be able to maintain existing, and seek out to develop new, relationships with suppliers, hire companies and PR agencies for product loans
* Organise pickups and returns of props, furniture, materials and product loans
* Maintaining on-site storage facilities for props and furniture
