Job Description CNC Turner Location: Northampton Salary: £37,500 DOE Hours: 38 hours per week We are seeking an experienced CNC Turner, for a family run organisation based in Northampton. This is a rare opening as our client has a long serving team. Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate CNC lathes (turning machines) to produce precision-engineered components according to technical specifications. Program CNC machines and make necessary modifications to optimise performance, reduce cycle times, and improve efficiency. Choose and install appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and fixtures, ensuring proper calibration for accurate machining. Use precision measuring instruments to inspect components and verify they meet tight tolerances and engineering standards. Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications to produce high-accuracy components. Load raw materials, check material specifications, and ensure proper setup before machining. Continuously monitor machining operations, identifying and correcting any deviations or quality issues in real-time. Diagnose machine faults, perform routine maintenance, and liaise with maintenance teams for more complex repairs. Optimise machining speeds, feeds, and tool paths to enhance productivity while maintaining high-quality standards. Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and hazard-free work environment in line with industry standards. Key Requirements: Proven experience Ability to read and understand 2D engineering drawings. Skilled in self-inspection of machined components to ensure quality.
