Maine Veterans’ Homes is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to serving Maine’s veterans and families. The Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA to CNA Med Tech is an essential nursing team member who provides residents with daily nursing care in accordance with the residents’ assessment and Plan of Care and attends Med Tech class on-site.
Responsibilities
1. Review care plans and provide care accordingly
2. Identify and honor resident choices in activities of daily living, while maintaining resident safety
3. Communicate with care staff at all levels to adequately meet the needs of the residents
4. Attend and participate in employer-sponsored Med Tech class
Requirements
1. Must be active and in good standing on the Maine CNA registry
2. Must provide proof of having worked 1,250 hours as a CNA
3. High school diploma
4. Must provide proof of having passed CASA exam, or be able to pass CASA exam
5. Ability and willingness to work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers, staff, supervisors, residents, and their families
6. Must be able to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
7. Requires proficiency in spoken and written English.
8. Ability to understand and respond to residents’ needs and inquiries in English is required.
9. Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally and in writing, in English, is required.
10. Basic computer skills
