Job Title: Senior Manager, Application Architecture Location: Nottingham Team: Risk Intelligence Product Engineering Role Description: We are excited to welcome a Senior Manager, Application Architecture to our Risk Intelligence Product Engineering team This role works with the Engineering Director and collaborates with Global Product Engineering teams. Key Responsibilities: We need you to oversee and lead all aspects of the architecture of our cloud-based products, ensuring they meet our standards. You will manage the software lifecycle from design to retirement and act as a technical expert on changes. Additionally, you will mentor engineering staff and support the Product Engineering function. Main Responsibilities: As a Senior Manager, Application Architecture, you will develop technical solutions that meet our business goals, from selection to end-of-life. You will work with our business partners to align application development with our architecture strategy and create detailed architecture designs. Representing our products and technology in the Risk Intelligence Architecture Practice, you will identify and resolve complex technical issues. You will communicate our technical vision and its impact on the business and stay updated on technology trends and their potential impact. Additionally, you will provide technical training and presentations, ensuring key quality requirements are met, including availability, security, and performance. You will also maintain alignment with our standards in Cyber Security, Compliance, Cloud, and Development. People Leadership and Management: You will lead and manage a team of architects, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment and will be responsible for setting performance goals, conducting regular performance reviews, and providing coaching and development opportunities. You will ensure that your team is motivated, engaged, and aligned with the company's strategic objectives, along with managing resource allocation and project prioritisation to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions. About You: You have strong analytical skills to combine our business needs with technology capabilities and can solve issues quickly and lead teams to develop solutions. You are experienced in managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment. You also have strong interpersonal and communication skills Essential Skills/Experience: You should have extensive experience in Software or Cloud Architecture and proficiency in key technologies such as AWS Cloud Native architecture, JSON, RESTful APIs, microservices, Python, secure systems, and high-performance databases. You have experience designing scalable, secure, and highly available solutions. A proven ability to lead complex projects and work with our business partners is crucial. Strong interpersonal skills to work across our technical and business teams, experience working with vendors, and driving technological innovation are also essential. Desired Skills/Experience: Knowledge of risk management, customer and third-party risk, and the regulatory marketplace is desired. Experience of leading a team of global architects, including overseeing architecture standards, processes and documentation. Education/Certifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience is required.
