We have an opportunity for an Assistant Practitioner to join their team of staff in the Cardiology department.
This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Duties of this role include:
* Assist in the delivery of high-quality care to patients undergoing cardiology assessments, procedures, and treatment.
* Carry out routine diagnostic tests such as ECGs, blood pressure monitoring, and basic echocardiograms under the supervision of registered professionals.
* Monitor patients’ vital signs and clinical condition, reporting any changes promptly to the appropriate clinical staff.
* Provide patients and families with clear, compassionate information about procedures and follow-up care, within the boundaries of your role.
* Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient observations, tests, and interactions in line with clinical governance.
* Work alongside cardiologists, nurses, physiologists, and administrative staff to provide integrated care.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
* Foundation Degree or equivalent qualification in Healthcare or Health Science (Level 5).
* Evidence of recent clinical experience in a cardiology or acute care setting.
* Competency in performing ECGs, blood pressure monitoring, and basic clinical assessments.
* Good understanding of cardiac anatomy, common cardiac conditions, and patient care principles.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain procedures clearly and provide reassurance.
* Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
