Job summary To support the inpatient and outpatient service in Paediatrics and Neonates at Warwick Hospital whilst on duty, the post holder has clinical and professional responsibility for their patients. It is also the duty of the post holder to: Keep patients (and/or their carers as appropriate) informed about their condition. The Paediatric Department is based in a purpose built, up to date and child friendly unit comprising of an 18 bed inpatient area and an outpatient area providing first class accommodation. The service has recently been expanded to include one high dependency bed and a 5 bedded Paediatric Assessment Unit which is next to the ward and staffed 10am - 10pm. A Level 1 Special Care Baby Unit with 11 cots. Babies requiring intensive care are stabilised at Warwick Hospital and then transferred elsewhere, usually within the Paediatric Network. Our unit has facilities to ventilate sick neonates awaiting transfer. The Child Development Centre (separately staffed) is on a separate site.
