Our Norfolk & Waveney Perinatal Community Mental Health & Lotus Maternal Therapeutic Outreach Teams won the NSFT Staff Excellence Awards 2022. Each member of the team shows compassion and care towards one another, supporting each other to help meet service user needs in a timely way.
Here's what our carers/service users have said about us: "The team were fantastic in supporting me in my journey back to being well and being able to be a mum to my baby."
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of Consultant Psychiatrists, Consultant Clinical Psychologists, a Therapies team, Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Assistant Practitioners, Peer Support Workers, Nursery Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Community Team Managers, a Matron, and a Service Manager specialising in perinatal mental health.
We are looking for an experienced B6 Occupational Therapist, preferably with relevant mental health and community experience, to join our Perinatal Community Mental Health team. This vacancy sits within the City and North locality, offering a mix of working in both the beautiful Norfolk countryside and our fine city.
Main duties of the job
Within our specialist service, you can look forward to a supportive and collaborative team with low manageable caseloads, friendly, visible, and accessible senior staff and medics.
We offer specialist perinatal training, line management, caseload, and clinical supervision monthly, and you can be a part of the Perinatal National Community OT network.
As this is a community post, it is expected most of our work is completed face to face in service users' homes or the community, so a valid UK full driving licence is essential. Access to your own vehicle is preferred, though pool cars can be booked through the Trust's Hiyacar system.
If you're enthusiastic, person-centred, and have the skills needed to work in a community setting, we would love to hear from you.
You will be responsible for:
* Managing a caseload of women with moderate to severe mental health needs within the perinatal period.
* Undertaking initial assessments.
* Formulating an appropriate plan of care/signposting to other services.
* Utilising your specialist knowledge and training to offer Occupational therapy specific assessments, interventions, and groups to service users across the team.
* Thinking about the parent-infant relationship.
* Participating in Duty rota (1-2 days a month).
* Escalating concerns about safeguarding to ECFS/Children's Services.
* Ensuring all service users have a co-produced care plan and up-to-date combined assessment.
