Job summary
We're looking for a Booking Clerk to join our busy Patient Services Admin Team.
You will be based at our Carousel Booking Centre at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
Please note this is a non patient facing role.
The department is open 5 days a week and the role will include working Monday - Friday between 8am - 5pm, not including Bank Holidays or weekends.
The post holder will work actioning booking appointments and taking calls from patients to negotiate new appointment dates/times.
Understanding/utilising multiple reports to ensure clinical sessions are accurately booked.
Printing/scanning referrals for clinical triage through the E-Referral system.
Processing/actioning responses from text messages with Doctor Dr online system and email request changes.
The Patient Services Admin Team is fully committed to effective appraisal and any training and development will be actively encouraged and supported.
Main duties of the job
1. Working with a team of highly committed staff to provide a first-class and effective Booking Team within Patient Services Admin.
2. Provide administrative service support to facilitate the patient pathway.
3. Work flexibly to provide a booking service, processing of referrals and undertaking a range of general admin tasks.
4. Build and maintain close working relationships across the clinical administrative teams, using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure functions of the role are carried out correctly and within given timescales.
5. Ensure accurate data recording using the Patient Administration System (PAS) and E-referral and other systems; and via the use of multiple reports book outpatient appointments in accordance with clinical instruction and national/local waiting time target dates.
