The People Operations HR Compliance Manager will be part of our HR Shared Services team, which plays a crucial role in supporting our employees and ensuring compliance with all relevant employment laws, regulations, and best practices. The HR Shared Services team is dedicated to providing excellent HR support and services to our diverse workforce, fostering a culture of accountability and fairness. The People Operations HR Compliance Manager will ensure that the MyHR team complies with all relevant employment laws, regulations, and best practices, as well as Serco’s internal policies and procedures. The role involves working with internal teams and external bodies, such as auditors, to ensure effective governance measures are in place. The Compliance Manager will also be responsible for identifying compliance training requirements, investigating, and resolving compliance issues, and continuously improving policies and practices to adapt to changes in UK employment law. Key Responsibilities: Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with UK employment laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Policy Compliance: Align internal HR policies and procedures with legal requirements and organizational standards. Governance and Risk Mitigation: Oversee internal governance frameworks to identify, assess, and mitigate risks. Audit Coordination: Monitor and collaborate on internal and external audits, ensuring successful completion and addressing findings. Training and Awareness: Identify compliance training needs and foster a culture of accountability. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, legal advisors, and external regulatory bodies. Incident Management: Investigate and resolve compliance issues promptly and effectively. Monitoring and Reporting: Develop processes to monitor compliance activities and provide regular updates to senior management. Ethical Standards Enforcement: Ensure organizational practices uphold ethical principles. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with changes in UK employment law and adapt policies accordingly. Essential Qualifications and Experience: Extensive HR Operational Experience: Proven track record in HR operations, demonstrating a deep understanding of HR processes and best practices. Compliance and Governance Experience: Strong background in ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, and experience in governance frameworks. Auditing Experience: Hands-on experience in coordinating and managing internal and external audits, with the ability to address findings and implement recommendations. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to develop innovative solutions to complex compliance issues. Customer Focus: Experience in enhancing customer service and building productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Influencing Skills: Ability to influence at all levels within the organization, including senior stakeholders. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey compliance information and engage with diverse audiences. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work. Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with various stakeholders. Integrity: Demonstrates the ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality.
