Overview: As a Room Leader, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care and education for children, ensuring the smooth and effective management of the nursery/preschool room, and supporting a team of practitioners. Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage a small team of childcare practitioners, ensuring children’s individual needs are met.
* Act as a positive role model for children, staff, and parents by demonstrating professionalism, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
* Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
* Monitor and maintain up-to-date records, observations, and assessments for all children.
* Ensure the room provides a safe, stimulating, and organized environment that supports learning and development.
* Act as a key worker for a group of children, building strong relationships with families to support their child's development.
* Promote and uphold health and safety policies, safeguarding procedures, and equality within the setting.
* Conduct regular team supervisions, coaching, and mentoring to maintain high standards of care and education.
* Support other rooms or settings when needed, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Requirements:
* Level 3 childcare qualification or higher.
* Strong understanding of child development and the EYFS framework.
* Experience leading a team in an early years setting.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Paediatric First Aid and Food Safety Level 2 (or willingness to obtain).
Additional Expectations:
* Work towards achieving and maintaining an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating.
* Attend CPD and training sessions as required.
* Promote positive relationships with parents through regular communication and engagement in nursery activities.
