Commercial Real Estate Solicitor (3-8 PQE)
BCL Legal are working with their client, a prominent L500-ranked regional law firm based in Bedfordshire renowned for its expertise across both commercial and private client services. The firm's commercial property team is particularly well-regarded, advising clients ranging from national and international businesses to major property developers, landlords, and investors. The Role:
The practice is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Solicitor with 3-8 years' PQE to join their thriving team. You will handle a broad range of complex and high-value commercial real estate transactions, working closely with institutional investors, developers, and commercial clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a wide range of commercial real estate matters, including:
Acquisitions and disposals of commercial property
Leases and lease renewals for large-scale commercial and retail properties
Development projects (including land acquisitions, site assembly, planning agreements, and construction contracts)
Real estate finance, including the structuring of complex funding arrangements
Securitisation of commercial properties, including property-backed lending transactions
Real estate portfolio management, including leasehold and freehold transactions
Option agreements, conditional contracts, and joint venture agreements
Provide strategic, commercially focused advice to clients, identifying key legal and business risks and delivering effective solutions.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, utilizing networking and business development strategies to expand your portfolio.
Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing support and guidance in both legal matters and client development.
Play an active role in the firm's marketing and business development initiatives, attending networking events, speaking at industry conferences, and contributing to thought leadership in commercial real estate.
Manage complex transactions from inception through to completion, ensuring efficient case management, risk management, and adherence to compliance policies.
Key Requirements:
3-8 years' PQE in commercial real estate law, with solid experience in handling high-value commercial property transactions.
A strong background in real estate finance, development, and portfolio management.
Experience advising a diverse range of commercial clients, including investors, developers, corporates, and institutions.
Excellent commercial awareness, with the ability to provide practical, solutions-focused advice.
Proven ability to develop client relationships and engage in business development activities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead client meetings and manage expectations.
Experience mentoring junior team members and managing complex legal projects.
