Responsibilities:
1. Manage client requirements for data-centric projects, designing integration solutions, data modelling, and hands-on implementation of data and management information-based technologies.
2. Lead on quoting, design, assurance and oversight of delivery of on-premises to Cloud Data Platform migrations and implementations.
3. Work closely with stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
4. Gather requirements through workshops, elaborate user stories, and refine to an Engineer-friendly technical approach.
5. Document designs using industry-recognized forms such as ER, UML, Archimate, Erwin, TOGAF.
6. Manage priorities on multiple projects/workstreams.
7. Make technical decisions/recommendations in an agile landscape where there is uncertainty.
8. Ensure stakeholder management and technical team interaction (internal, external and 3rd party).
Required Experience:
1. 10+ years' experience in Consulting, ideally with Nonprofit, Government, Public Sector or Financial Services experience.
2. 7+ years' experience with hands-on skills in ETL/ELT tools.
3. End-to-end migration of on-prem SQL-Server based solutions into Azure.
4. Working knowledge of Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and Well Architected Framework.
5. Experience with large scale Data Lakehouse design, conceptual architecture, logical architecture and physical architecture.
6. Creation of fault-tolerant data ingestion pipelines in Azure Data Factory / Synapse Pipelines / Fabric Pipelines / Mapping Data Flows / SSIS / KingswaySoft.
7. Understanding of information security standards such as ISO27001, PCI-DSS, Cyber Essentials.
8. Experience in Azure Infrastructure and Networking, Azure DevOps, Git, ARM/Bicep, and building CI/CD pipelines.
Technical Skills:
1. Proficient in SQL Azure, Synapse Analytics (Dataflows, Jupyter notebooks, on-demand SQL), Databricks, ADF Power BI, DAX, Python, ETL, SSIS.
2. Experience with Microsoft Fabric and data governance tools (e.g. Microsoft Purview), Master Data Management tools (e.g. CluedIn).
3. Ability to extract data from a variety of sources including SQL Databases, Document Databases, Graph Databases, and web APIs.
You will be a self-starter, technically confident, and able to land on a project and instantly add value. A quantitative mindset and proven experience working in a data architecture role in an Azure ecosystem is essential.
