Managed Service Consultant
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading cloud solutions and managed services business based in the North-East. Synergi is an Award-winning technology provider working in the region and UK-wide with companies such as the AA, Highways England and Northumbrian Water. Synergi has seen substantial growth since its inception in 2013 and this appointment will add to our experienced managed services team to support our continued success.
Joining our team of experienced Managed Service Consultants, you will take a proactive approach in the delivery of projects, whilst also assisting in the delivery of proactive and reactive field support. You will provide high quality end point, server and cloud platform support and be responsible for the planning and delivery of on-site installation services including Cloud and Hybrid migration projects.
We offer a hybrid approach to working although occasional travel to customers sites and providing some 24/7 on call cover may be necessary to be successful in this role.
Role, Duties & Expectations
* A varied role that combines the delivery of project delivery with proactive and reactive field support
* Planning and delivery of on-site installation services including Cloud and Hybrid projects
* Onsite proactive delivery - Performance of regular scheduled service and maintenance compliance checks for Managed Service Clients
* Reactive support - show Analytical approach to problem solving, responding to onsite incidents and returning services to an operational state
* Lead critical incident resolution including full system outages
* Provide high quality desktop, server and cloud platform support
* Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot complex environments
* Provide clear advice and guidance to clients for improving their environments
* Be seen as a trusted advisor on service issues and be able to communicate to every level within an organisation
* Communicate with 3rd party providers including hardware and application vendors to resolve complex multi-party issues
* Ensure workload is managed to deliver the service within clearly defined SLAs
* Ensure accuracy and completion of data entry based on incidents and problems
* Some 24/7 on call cover may be required
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
* Possess a well-rounded skillset including implementation skills, remote support, and onsite maintenance
* Must have a proven track record of providing project implementations for at least 2 years prior for a Managed Service Provider
* Strong written and excellent verbal communication skills
* Support Windows server operating systems and Exchange on premises environments
* Complete understanding of Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS and DHCP
* Strong knowledge of Anti-Virus, Anti-Ransomware and security best practices
* In depth understanding of the Microsoft 365 platform (Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, Office Apps) and security services (Entra ID, Intune, Defender for Office)
* Good level of knowledge of Azure VMs, Firewall, Backup and Configuration
* Ability to troubleshoot Virtualised on-premise environments including Hyper-V and VMware
* Knowledge of and ability to monitor and troubleshoot cloud and on premises backup technologies
* Good understanding of networking technologies with the ability to troubleshoot from desktop through to VLAN, LAN, WAN and hosted services
* Understanding of the ITIL framework and basic principles
* Good understanding of commercial aspects of service agreements
Beneficial but not essential
* Basic SQL Skills including backup, maintenance schedules and high-level troubleshooting
* Basic understanding of broader operating systems (macOS, Linux distributions)
* Ability to deploy new services e.g. Microsoft 365 migrations or cloud server migrations
* Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot Disaster Recovery (DR) technology
* Experience of Virtual Desktop and virtualised applications using Citrix technology
* ITIL Foundation or Practitioner accreditations
* Experience of hardware deployments including Server and SAN technologies
* Prior experience or qualification in PRINCE 2 Project Management
* Experience of installation and troubleshooting of Cisco Meraki
Education/Training
* Be able to show clear evidence of continual learning in your career to date
* Industry recognised accreditations beneficial e.g. - Microsoft Associate, Microsoft Expert, VMware VCP, Cisco CCNA, Citrix CCP
