Salary: £35,646 per annum (Professional Services Grade 9)
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Exams Manager - The Role:

Wiltshire College & University Centre is looking for an experienced and dynamic Exams Manager to oversee and manage the full spectrum of our examinations processes across our four campuses. Exams Manager - Key Responsibilities:
* Exams Organisation and Administration:
Take the lead in the administration and management of all examinations-related activities, ensuring the smooth running of exams. You will be responsible for coordinating qualification approval processes, liaising with Awarding Organisations, and managing exam schedules.
* Leadership and Team Management:
You will manage and guide a dedicated team of exams administration staff, promoting a customer-focused and efficient environment. Ensure quality assurance procedures are met, and continually assess and improve systems to enhance the exam administration experience.
* Communication and Collaboration:
Act as the primary point of contact between the Exams team, academic staff, managers, and external stakeholders. You will coordinate with Awarding Organisations, software suppliers, and internal departments to ensure clear communication and efficient processes throughout the exam cycle.
* Policies, Procedures, and Compliance:
You will develop, implement, and maintain robust procedures relating to exams, ensuring adherence to the regulations set out by the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) and Awarding Organisations. Your expertise will ensure the College's exams process complies with all necessary guidelines and standards.
* Training and Support:
Provide training and ongoing support to staff across the institution, helping to raise awareness and understanding of exams regulations and procedures. Your leadership will ensure the effective delivery of exams administration and that all teams are equipped with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed.
Exams Manager - You:
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven experience in exams administration or a similar administrative role within education.
* Strong leadership skills, with a track record of managing a team effectively.
* Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.
* An in-depth understanding of JCQ regulations and Awarding Organisation requirements.
* Exceptional communication skills, able to liaise effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
* Experience of multi-site working is desirable, as is knowledge of MIS systems.
Essential Qualifications:
* English and Maths to Level 2 (GCSE A*-C/9-4)
* Level 3 or above in Business, IT or Administration qualification e.g. NVQ/BTEC
* Level 4 or above Supervisory/Management qualification, or be willing to work towards one
