REPORTS TO : Transportation Operations Supervisor
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE :
Position is responsible for assisting in the smooth operation of a busy school bus operations office. The liaison(s) will communicate with drivers, monitors, parents / guardians, and school staff regarding on-time performance of established school bus routes.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES :
1. Responsible for assisting the Transportation Operations Supervisor in communicating all relevant details of daily route performance to drivers, monitors, parents / guardians and school staff including telephone, two-way radio, and various social media platforms.
2. In responding to emergency calls, facilitating emergency response network, and coordinating mechanical service repair.
3. To maintain route documentation and records (customer information, route changes, relevant maps, vehicle details, bus assignments, driver details) for the purpose of providing accurate and reliable information to customers that complies with district policy.
4. To coordinate vehicle service and mechanical repairs with maintenance personnel to assure uninterrupted service delivery.
5. To handle customer concerns and requests for information in an expeditious and professional manner.
6. Performance of all other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
1. High School Diploma or equivalent
2. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers in fast-paced and / or stressful environment (interpersonal & telephone skills).
3. Positive attitude, professional and friendly demeanor
4. Strong communication and organizational skills
5. Must be detail oriented
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
1. Knowledge of surrounding geographic area to ensure effective and efficient routing
2. Familiarity with school bus routing software packages (VersaTrans, Transfinder, EDULOG, etc.)
3. Bi-lingual abilities a plus
4. Maintains valid driver’s license
WORK YEAR : This is a twelve-month position.
WORK HOURS : 25 hours per week 1PM-6PM
SALARY : $21.09 – $28.59 Hourly
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to regularly enter or exit the school bus using three points of contact. Employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to handle, feel, and / or reach. Employee is occasionally required to kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
