About the role
We are seeking an innovative and dynamic Interactive Art Director to develop the vision, strategy, and execution of groundbreaking interactive solutions. This leadership role requires a blend of creative direction, team management, and strategic thinking to ensure that every project not only meets but exceeds client expectations. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Unreal Engine, alongside a strong eye for both artistic and technical precision. As one of the creative leaders of the Digital Transformation team, you will lead projects from concept through to delivery, collaborate with clients to define ambitious solutions, and mentor and guide the development of your team. With a keen ability to balance creativity with practical and technical execution, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of interactive content.
Roles and Responsibilities
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.
Creative Leadership
* Be the creative lead in any situation, author and underwrite the ambition and vision of the project
* Take ownership and authority in creative responses, creating pitch materials and leading external engagements.
* Attend project briefing sessions, interpreting briefs from the client and shape this into a wider proposal and/or creative strategy
* Understand the needs and obstacles faced by clients, in order to propose effective and ambitious solutions.
* Oversee the end to end production, taking ideas and concepts through to final presentation material.
* Ensure all creative output meets the highest level of excellence both internally and externally.
* Oversee a full suite of products, from films and CGIs to interactive and immersive solutions.
Team Management
* Resourcing / Assignments - working with the Resource Manager to allocate projects across the department, forecasting capacity and loading
* Progress / Mentoring - identify and provide opportunities to the team for development and growth
* Recruitment / onboarding - involvement in recruiting new members into the department and onboarding them into our culture and workflow
* Freelance / Outsourcing - acquiring and managing additional external resource for the department
New Business/Business Development
* Presentations/demos and pitches specific to interactive solutions
* Account management (maintaining contact with key external people) and assisting with managing and building relationships with external contacts
* Lead new business opportunities - leading the pursuit of projects with interactive output (currently a shared loading across key members within the creative team)
* Create proposals/pitch decks and quotations against new business opportunities involved
* Assisting Creative Director on scoping new projects including innovative and unprecedented.
Live projects & Billing
* Leading live projects directly landed through new business ownership, from a delivery perspective
* Ensuring delivery capabilities of the team are maintained against deadlines, spec and budget
* Consultancy level billing - direct project involvement at a high level with time billed against advisor or management rates
* Act as a live operator in workshop and meeting facilitation - live driving and active engagement in sessions being sold
Product & Process
* Product development and solution packaging work alongside Creative Director
* Automation and process development against how the team is operating
* Innovate products and services on live studio projects and through controlled R&D
* Technical / accuracy / process oversight - where required ensuring technical accuracy and process have been followed against the desired output
* Best practices - ensuring the team are operating correctly with what is available
* Risk management and pipeline design
Essential Skills
