We are seeking an experienced and innovative Head of Neighbourhood Services to lead and transform a wide–ranging housing management service. This is a strategic leadership role that encompasses the management of neighbourhood services, sheltered housing, and community initiatives to improve resident satisfaction, build sustainable communities, and ensure high–quality service delivery.
You will work closely with senior leadership and stakeholders to develop and implement housing management strategies, improve operational efficiency, and deliver on the council's key priorities and objectives.
The Role
Develop and deliver long–term housing strategies and service improvement plans that align with corporate goals and enhance the resident experience.
Provide leadership and support to managers across neighbourhood and sheltered housing services, ensuring high performance, staff development, and effective collaboration.
Oversee the delivery of multi–functional housing hub services, ensuring customer satisfaction and value for money through efficient processes.
Lead the review and enhancement of housing policies and procedures, using business intelligence and benchmarking data to drive transformation.
Prepare and manage budgets effectively, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and delivering cost efficiencies.
Foster strong relationships with residents, tenant associations, and community groups to ensure their voices shape service delivery.
Ensure adherence to all relevant legal, regulatory, and health and safety requirements, implementing robust governance and risk management processes.
Build effective partnerships with internal teams, external agencies, and voluntary organizations to deliver joined–up services and improve community outcomes.
The Ideal Candidate
Must have previous experience in a "Head of" role within housing,
5 years line management experience.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, with evidence of continuous professional development.
Proven leadership experience in housing management, delivering transformation and service improvements within a fast–paced environment.
Strong understanding of housing legislation, governance, and regulatory frameworks for social landlords.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
A natural leader with excellent people management skills, able to inspire and develop teams to achieve high performance.
