Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities
Job Summary
We are looking for a professional, friendly, and efficient Receptionist to join our busy GP surgery. As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality customer service and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. You will manage appointments, assist patients with enquiries, and provide administrative support to the clinical and admin teams.
1. Greet and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner, both in person and over the phone.
2. Book, cancel, and manage patient appointments efficiently.
3. Respond to patient queries, signposting them to the appropriate healthcare professional or service.
4. Ensure patient confidentiality and data protection are maintained at all times.
Administrative Duties
1. Process prescriptions and liaise with pharmacies when necessary.
2. Update and maintain accurate patient records using the clinical system.
3. Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and phone calls.
4. Assist with scanning, filing, and other general administrative tasks.
5. Support clinicians and management with administrative duties as required.
Teamwork and Communication
