Main duties of the job
As Divisional Medical Director -- Mental Health Services, you will lead the medical workforce within the division, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care. You will work closely with the Divisional Clinical Director and senior management to shape service delivery, support medical staff, and improve patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Providing medical leadership and ensuring best clinical practice.
2. Overseeing workforce planning, medical appraisals, and training.
3. Driving quality improvement, governance, and patient safety initiatives.
4. Developing innovative patient pathways and service strategies.
5. Acting as the Responsible Clinician for detained patients under the Mental Health Act.
We are looking for an accomplished Consultant Psychiatrist with:
1. GMC registration and Approved Clinician status.
2. Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
3. A passion for service transformation and clinical excellence.
4. Experience in workforce management and medical education.
