The Student Communications Coordinator is required to work 8 hours per week during the academic year.
Position Description
Position Summary: The Communications Coordinator assists with the creation of marketing and promotional materials to educate and inform Messiah’s community about sustainability programs, events, and initiatives.
Major Preferred Experience Required:
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Instagram and LinkedIn
* Track record of positive social media presence
* Strong writing abilities
* Experience with website content management preferred
* Experience working with diverse groups
* Public speaking experience a plus
Skills, Characteristics Required For Position:
* Track record of professional correspondence and professional integrity
Dress Code Requirements: Casual; professional attire on occasion; no sweats
Special Working Conditions: Maintain office hours

Primary Duties:
* Assist with maintenance and improvements to Sustainability website pages, keeping information on website current and accurate
* Creation of marketing materials utilizing web platforms, Canva, Photoshop, and/or other design tools to create advertisements for formal office messaging
* Communicate with other team members to ensure that event postings are accurate and posted in a timely manner (keeping online calendar up-to-date)
* Manage the Office’s presence on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
* Outreach to partners on or off campus to advertise the Office’s events, programs, and initiatives
* Monitor and track engagement of website and social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram). Set benchmarks for performance and keep track of key performance indicators
* Create and maintain printed communication in the office newsletter and annual report. Also in Messiah’s Pulse, Swinging Bridge and the Bridge or other online writing platforms.
* Maintain consistent and reliable attendance
