This is an opportunity for a driven individual to join us in Cambridgeshire County Council and lead Learning Disability Services at a crucial time of development. This role will give real opportunity to work across the Council and other partners to drive real transformation in the service provision. As the Head of Learning Disabilities you will be responsible for adult social care, learning disability and autism integrated working with health colleagues, overseeing the delivery and quality assurance of effective delivery of the council’s statutory responsibilities. You will work closely with other key partners such as the Police, Probation, NHS and private providers on all matters related to Safeguarding, quality, and practice. This role will involve some travel around the county and is offered as a 12-month secondment or fixed-term contract. What will you be doing? You will ensure your service areas are managed to a high standard and are cost effective, underpinned by a culture of continuous improvement driven by qualitative and quantitative data. You will have the ability to lead initiatives in the LDP to improve practice, performance and culture that will contribute to the strategic objectives of the Adults Health and Commissioning directorate and wider council as well as those of the Integrated Care Board and Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Foundation Trust (CPFT). You will be confident to provide operational leadership, direction, and line management across the portfolio of the LDP in Cambridgeshire. To ensure that risks to customers, staff, service delivery, Council and partner organisations are identified, managed effectively, and escalated appropriately. You'll need to work in close partnership with internal and external stakeholders to deliver place-based care that is focused on community connected solutions to maximise independence that prevent / delay demand for long term care. About you You will have: A relevant professional qualification in Social Work or Health Registration with an appropriate professional body Level 5 or equivalent Management & Leadership (desirable) You will have demonstrable experience of successful leadership and management within complex organisational relationships, as well as leading statutory and provider services. You will be a capable financial manager, with experience of successfully managing a large budget. You must be able to show us a track record of achievement within the relevant specialist area across large complex organisations. You will be confident to lead organisational change, and be able to evidence experience of establishing a positive culture and commitment to diversity.
