We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a Mechanical Team at a large industrial site in Scunthorpe. This role involves working alongside an established maintenance team to support ongoing mechanical repairs and installations across a variety of equipment. Key Responsibilities: Carrying out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installations as required. Replacing gearboxes, bearings, and other mechanical components on conveyors. Installing and removing pipework, valves, pumps, and motors. Conducting repairs on ducting, rotary valves, chain conveyors, fans, haulage cars, and hoists. Assisting with hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance when necessary. Working in line with planned maintenance schedules and responding to urgent repair needs. Following all relevant health and safety protocols while on site. Requirements: Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in an industrial or heavy engineering environment. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including rotating equipment and conveyor systems. Ability to work flexibly, as tasks may vary on a daily or weekly basis. Competency in working at height, slinging and rigging, and using lifting equipment (preferred but not essential). FLT and MEWP licences (advantageous but not mandatory). Ability to work independently and as part of a team under the direction of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.
