About the Role:
The risk management function has created additional roles to support the growth of Everest's international insurance business. As a key member of the risk management function within the second line of defence, the role holder will contribute to enhancing, embedding and maintaining the Company's risk management system. With a particular focus on risk assurance, the role requires experience within the non-life insurance sector. The role holder will be self-motivated, well-organised and enthusiastic about contributing to the success of a rapidly growing business. The role requires excellent stakeholder management, interacting with multiple functional areas including underwriting, finance, compliance, claims, operations, senior management and colleagues in Everest international and group offices.
Role & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
1. Through provision of dedicated thematic risk assurance reviews, lead the development and execution of an annual 'Independent Assurance Testing ('IAT') plan to provide management with assurance regarding the operation of the control environment, recommending areas for improvement to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness.
2. Lead the development and execution of a risk-based annual plan of control reviews to test the effectiveness of all internal controls against selected core business processes, recommending areas for improvement.
3. Provide oversight of the company's policy framework, including undertaking policy adherence assessments and coordinating the annual policy attestation exercise.
4. Promote a strong risk culture.
5. Contribute to the continuous development, embedding and operation of the Company's risk management framework to meet the needs of a rapidly growing business.
6. Provide advice, support, training and challenge to first line on risk management matters.
7. Support the company in identifying, monitoring, managing, reporting and analysing risks.
8. Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business to drive effective risk management.
Qualifications:
Risk management or audit qualification advantageous.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
1. Experience within the non-life insurance sector.
2. Experience with risk management, internal audit, external audit or similar.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to influence and write good quality reports.
4. Ability to demonstrate professional scepticism.
5. Ability to influence.
6. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
7. An ability to plan work, manage time effectively and ensure timely completion of all deliverables.
8. Ability to develop effective working relationships across the business.
9. Self-motivated, with the capacity to work autonomously, as part of a team and across teams, managing multiple priorities.
10. Excellent Microsoft Office capabilities.
