Teaching Assistant/Support Worker Roles Available Start date: September 2024. We are currently seeking:
1. Primary Teaching Assistant
2. Secondary Teaching Assistant
3. Special Needs Teaching Assistant
Teaching assistants support teachers by helping supervise activities in the classroom, working with children on an individual, small group, or whole class basis. Some Teaching assistants work on a one-to-one basis with children with special educational needs. The successful candidate will support teachers and help children with their educational and social development, both in and out of the classroom. They will be highly motivated and focused on achieving the best for every student. They will be open to work across all year groups, where children are grouped based on ability, rather than age.

Key responsibilities:
1. Supporting children across the curriculum, often with a particular focus on maths, reading, and writing
2. Providing extra help to children with special needs or those for whom English is not their first language
3. Helping develop programmes of learning activities and adapting appropriate materials
4. Motivating and encouraging pupils
5. Assisting with marking and correcting work
6. Attending meetings and reviews
7. Helping with school events, trips, and activities
8. Supervising work that has been set in accordance with the school policy
9. Managing the behaviour of pupils while they are undertaking this work to ensure a constructive environment
10. Responding to any questions from pupils about process and procedures
11. Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school’s policies and procedures
12. Collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher
13. Reporting back as appropriate using the school’s agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the class, and any issues arising
To qualify, you must:
1. Be eligible to work in the UK (i.e. Youth Mobility Visa, UK passport)
2. Have sensitivity, understanding, and patience
3. Be able to remain calm in stressful situations
4. Have a positive attitude and desire towards working with children
5. Be flexible and open to change
6. Have excellent verbal communication skills
