An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time, fixed term Psychology Technician in the Department of Psychology within the Faculty of Life Sciences and Education.
The purpose of this role is to lead the technical team and within the Department of Psychology, in providing a highly technical support service to students and staff across undergraduate and postgraduate taught and research programmes within the department.
Duties will include supporting students and academic staff on a range of BPS Accredited undergraduate psychology programmes and on relevant postgraduate courses to deliver high quality teaching and research.
The successful applicant will have knowledge of working with and demonstrating computing-based equipment in an HE environment. Some background knowledge of psychology would be an advantage. The successful candidate will work closely with our existing Technicians.
The successful applicant will need to work flexibly across the year, as the bulk of the duties associated with this post are related to the spring/summer months between April and September. Hence it is envisaged that more hours will be assigned during this period of 6 months. We would expect to reach an agreement with the successful candidate over the profile of their hours over the course of the working year.
The position is based at Treforest Campus of the University of South Wales. A job share would be considered.
