Doggy Day Care Assistant - Apprentice Level 2 Animal Care & Welfare
Aged 16+ and want to start a career in the doggy daycare?
We are a doggy day care company looking for two dog-mad people to join our growing team as part of our apprentice programme!
IMPORTANT: Applications received without a cover letter will automatically be rejected.
This apprenticeship is in conjunction with Myerscough College*
We operate one of Lancashire’s newest, coolest and largest dog daycare facilities located around 10 mins outside of Preston, Lancashire, where our dogs spend the day playing and socialising in nearly 9,000 sq ft of indoor and outdoor space. We are looking to take on two new apprentices to add to our team.
Your job will be working with the dogs in the daycare, running activities and enrichment sessions, playing with them, keeping them entertained, and ensuring their behavior is appropriate. You will also be responsible for cleaning the facility and washing dogs and equipment, among other general maintenance duties.
It is essential that you love dogs of all ages and sizes and are comfortable being amongst large groups of them. You must be able to think fast and remain calm in any situation to ensure the safety of all the dogs. You must be physically fit and have no issue working outdoors in all weathers and being on your feet for hours. You should be practical and pragmatic, working well alone as well as part of a team. Excellent communication skills are necessary, especially when discussing owners' pets with them. You should not be afraid to get your hands dirty and engage in everything required to care for the dogs.
Reliability and punctuality are extremely important - we need you to turn up for shifts on time, every time as our customers rely on us.
A passion for animal care and determination to learn is what we look for!
