Main Responsibilities
This is a dynamic role and will change based on the needs to our guests, our team and our business. However, the main responsibilities of the Head of People are;
* Lead, manage, inspire and motivate the people, talent acquisition and learning and development teams with 6 direct reports, People Partner and People Coordinator (HR) 2 x L&D Managers (L&D) 2 x Talent Acquisition Managers (TA)
* Encourage collaboration across the People Team and other departments, providing a professional and aligned HR service
* Work closely with the Bill’s Exec Team to develop and drive the HR Strategy, ensuring the HR function and team is aligned with the business and operational objectives
* Ensure the successful communication, alignment and implementation of the people strategy
* Develop HR policies, processes and procedures, promoting consistency and fairness in their application and ensuring that best practice and relevant employment law is followed
* To oversee the compilation of all HR metrics including staff turnover, retention and leavers and provide recommendations on HR metrics that are recorded
* Ensure all employees are kept informed of key organisational updates and ensure employees have a voice
* Develop engaging attraction strategies to directly attract and strengthen our employer brand
* Evaluate and implement robust training and development programmes alongside the Training Managers which meet the needs of the business and people within
* Implement activities designed to increase awareness of the company and culture to drive engagement
* Review, adjust, implement and manage all aspects of remuneration, bonuses and benefits
* Encourage and strengthen a culture and practice of forward HR planning – ensuring HR considerations are reflected accurately in new programme design and annual planning processes
* Champion a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace and design and implement practices to support their achievement.
* Lead the performance and career review process to ensure powerful conversations are held focusing on career development and performance enhancement
* Introduce and drive change management initiatives and incentive plans
The Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:
* Significant and proven experience managing and leading people teams & strategies as a Head of People, ideally in a Hospitality, Retail or Leisure
* CIPD membership at Chartered or Fellow level or equivalent experience
* A strong, up-to-date understanding of HR and organisational development practices, including but not limited to change management, resourcing, compensation and benefits, policy development, employee engagement and welfare
* Proficient understanding of UK employment legislation and regulations
* Experienced leader and budget holder – having operated at a senior level in comparable organisations
* Strong understanding of fundamental payroll processes, employment law and best practice in recruitment, people data management and reporting and employee relations
* Proven experience of building and maintaining relationships at a senior level, resulting in securing new opportunities to influence change
