HIWFRS Fleet Maintenance Team is looking for a highly motivated Supervisor. As a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, you will be required to manage a team of technicians on a day to day basis, plan workloads, oversee and provide technical support to all aspects of an automotive and equipment fleet including:
* Routine vehicle servicing
* Vehicle repairs and maintenance
* Vehicle refurbishments
* Vehicle upgrades
* Equipment repairs and maintenance
The Supervisor will also deputise for the Fleet Maintenance Centre Manager and have responsibility as part of a rota, for unlocking and securing the premises at the start and finish of each day.
Maintenance and care is carried out across the 62 HIWFRS sites and you will be expected to complete tasks on fire stations as well as at the scene of operational incidents to ensure the readiness and availability of fleet assets at all times. You will be required to travel to various locations within Hampshire [and the Isle of Wight or other local authority], and it is essential that you have a current drivers’ licence and access to a reliable vehicle on a regular basis.
We are looking for individuals who are:
* Skilled and motivated and will have completed a recognised apprenticeship, with accompanying NVQ, City and Guilds qualifications or have extensive equivalent experience in a mechanical discipline
* IRTEC qualified
* Conversant with auto electrical systems
* Experience of equipment maintenance and repair, for example ladders and/or hydraulic rescue equipment is desirable
* Have at least two years post qualification experience in a relevant role
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Have a positive and customer focused approach to completing tasks and activities
* Has the ability to deliver the utmost professional and integral service
